yesterday we made our way against the head wind for the whole day but fortunatley – and finally! – we had lots of sunshine. so we read, slept, ate and tanned the whole day.
1. dive: banco hannibal
early today we arrived at banco hannibal, where we had our first dive for the day. the current was really strong and we needed lots of energy to get down to the bottom. sabrina, ilse and me were the last ones and could not see the others, so we sank ínto a dark and unknown abyss which was a bit frightening actually. when we arrived at the rock in about 47m depth we were slightly panicking and needed to regain our breaths. of course we could not stay very long – only about 4 minutes – but on our way up to the surface we saw a huge fishball with red snappers and mackareles. it was really impressive but if it was worth it to go this deep? well, i can’t answer that…
then we continued our way towards panama for a couple of hours until we heard the bells for our next dive at around 3pm.
2. dive: isla landrones (isle of the thieves)
again this is a shallowness in the middle of nowhere where arvid has seen many hammerheads in the last years but we were unlucky again. the visibility was not really clear cause of lots of allgies. at the beginning the current was strong again, sabrina even used her (stolen :)) reef hook. the sea & sea underwater camera’s lense was foggy once again, so i could not take any pictures. we did see a white tip shark and some small morays. i was stung by a jellyfish, which still hurts.
this was our last dive at the inula and guess what…? I DID NOT MISS ONE SINGLE DIVE! this has never happened before in my 10 years of diving. my ears don’t hurt, my nose is open, i have no fever, no cough – i am absolutley healthy. i think noboday will believe me that back home. i hope this new strength will stay for my future diving trips!
